The regulated market
Alberta's regulated online gaming market launched on July 13, 2026, and two bodies share the work. The Alberta iGaming Corporation, known as AiGC, manages the market, and AGLC regulates it. To operate legally, an online operator must register with AGLC and sign an operating agreement with AiGC. At launch, 22 registered iGaming sites were approved.
Play Alberta, at PlayAlberta.ca, is the province's own online gaming site. It is run by AGLC, and its revenue goes to the Government of Alberta.
Any operator can be looked up in AiGC's directory of registered iGaming sites at abigaming.ca/players/registered-igaming-sites. If an operator does not appear in that directory, it is not regulated. Approved operators display the AiGC logo. Registered operators must make sure that only players physically located in Alberta can play. The legal gambling age in Alberta is 18.
Where the paid links lead
Only the home page of this site carries paid links, each marked Ad. There is one in the menu, one in a block just below the first screen and one near the end of the page. All three lead to the same online casino partner. The site earns a commission, and the partner can change.
Readers can look up that partner, or any other operator, in AiGC's directory of registered iGaming sites. In Alberta, anyone advertising an online gaming site must follow AGLC's standards. Ads must carry a responsible gambling message and must not target minors or use people who appear to be minors. They must not link gaming to attractiveness or status.
